
Trump open to meeting Iranian leaders
U.S. President Donald Trump is open to meeting with Iran’s supreme leader or president and believes that the two countries will eventually reach an agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Trump said in an interview with Time magazine.
In the interview, published today, Trump stated, “I believe we will make a deal with Iran.”
When asked by Time whether he would be willing to meet with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei or President Masoud Pezeshkian, Trump replied, “Of course.”
Negotiations at the expert level are scheduled to resume Saturday in Oman, which is acting as a mediator. On the same day, a third round of high-level discussions between officials is also expected.
Meanwhile, the U.S. president has stated he is ready for a military confrontation with Iran if they fail to reach an agreement through negotiations.
