Araghchi: Israel’s fantasy that it can dictate what Iran may or may not do is detached from reality

Araghchi: Israel’s fantasy that it can dictate what Iran may or may not do is detached from reality

Tehran is strong enough to prevent any foreign policy measures taken by Israel aimed at undermining Iran’s negotiations with the United States, as well as Tel Aviv’s actions against the deal between Tehran and Washington, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an X post.

“Israel’s fantasy that it can dictate what Iran may or may not do is so detached from reality that it hardly merits a response. What is striking, however, is how brazenly Netanyahu is now dictating what President Trump can and cannot do in his diplomacy with Iran,” Araghchi stated, adding that Iran can only hope its U.S. counterparts are equally steadfast.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has outlined the conditions under which the Jewish state will agree to a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear program, noting that Tehran must not be able to enrich uranium and its entire nuclear infrastructure must be dismantled.

On April 26, the third round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States took place in Oman, with the participation of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, as well as technical groups from both sides. After their results, the Iranian minister stated that he was satisfied with the course of the talks, although differences between the countries remained both on the details of the deal on the Iranian nuclear program and on its general provisions. The next round, as announced by the Omani Foreign Ministry, is scheduled for May 3. At the same time, the Iranian side noted that the Omani authorities will determine both the place and the time of the Iranian-U.S. consultations.
