
The OSCE is committed to peace and stability in the region: Sinirlioğlu on South Caucasus visit
OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu has completed his first official visits to Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, reaffirming the organization’s strong commitment to peace, security, and stability in the South Caucasus, the OSCE Secretariat said.
“This visit was an opportunity to emphasize the OSCE’s firm dedication to peace and stability in the region, as well as our support in addressing ongoing challenges,” Sinirlioğlu noted.
Both in Yerevan and Baku, Sinirlioğlu welcomed efforts aimed at ensuring regional peace and stability, expressing hope for the earliest possible signing of a peace agreement. “The news of the final approval of the peace treaty is an inspiring development. The OSCE stands ready to support Armenia and Azerbaijan as they continue on the path toward sustainable peace,” the official stated.
During his visit to the South Caucasus, the secretary general emphasized how the OSCE’s decades of experience and comprehensive approach to security can contribute to resolving regional issues and promoting broader regional stability and peace. He underscored the importance of consistently fulfilling OSCE commitments.
