Erdoğan invites Trump to Turkey in phone call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump. The two leaders discussed several issues.

“President Erdoğan spoke with President Trump. He expressed support for the U.S. president’s efforts to cease hostilities, praised the negotiations with Iran, and commended Trump’s efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war. During the conversation, Erdoğan also noted that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached serious proportions, emphasizing that humanitarian aid must be allowed to enter Gaza without interruption, and called for an end to this humanitarian catastrophe,” the Turkish presidential office announced.

Erdoğan also told Trump that “Turkey is ready to cooperate and will do everything possible to help establish a ceasefire regime and ensure stable peace in the region.”

The presidents also discussed the situation in Syria. In this regard, Erdoğan stated that “U.S. efforts to ease sanctions imposed on Syria will contribute to maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity and stability.”

Erdoğan invited the U.S. president to make an official visit to Turkey.
