US and Yemen’s Houthis agree on ceasefire

Oman said it mediated a ceasefire deal between Yemen’s Houthis and the U.S., Reuters writes.

According to the deal, neither side will target the other, including U.S. vessels in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The Yemeni foreign minister also made a statement about the ceasefire.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. will stop bombing the Houthis, saying the group had agreed to stop interrupting important shipping lanes in the Middle East.
