Plane with Serbia’s president on board makes emergency landing in Baku
The plane carrying Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has made an emergency landing at Baku Airport and is now awaiting permission to fly to Moscow to participate in the Victory Day celebrations, the news agency Tanjug reports.
As noted, Vučić’s plane is currently waiting for approval to continue its flight to Russia. The Serbian media outlet Informer stated that the landing in Baku was carried out due to the increased activity of air defense systems in Russian airspace.
Earlier, the newspaper Večernje Novosti reported that Lithuania and Latvia had closed their airspace to the plane carrying Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. As part of his visit to Russia, a meeting between Serbia’s leader and Russian President Vladimir Putin is also planned.
