
Kurdistan Workers’ Party announces dissolution
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is designated as a terrorist organization in Turkey, has announced its dissolution, Kurdish broadcaster Rudaw reports.
The decision was made during the party’s 12th congress, held from May 5 to 7.
The final declaration states that the congress resolved to dismantle the organizational structure of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and to end the armed struggle against Turkey that had been ongoing since 1984.
