Armenia and Azerbaijan close to resolving conflicts, says US special envoy

U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff said in an interview with Breitbart that in the coming months, 4–6 countries may join the Abraham Accords (agreements on normalizing relations between Arab countries and Israel), including Syria, Lebanon, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. According to him, “we will likely see the potential for normalization of relations in Lebanon and even in Syria quite soon.”

Witkoff also mentioned that Armenia and Azerbaijan are also close to resolving their disputes.

“I am quite confident that four or five, maybe six countries, will join the Abraham Accords in the next few months,” he added.

In 2020, the United States launched a process aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and Arab countries. As a result, several documents were signed, collectively known as the “Abraham Accords.” by the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco.
