Iran says it has received offer for new round of talks with US

Iran has received an offer regarding the timing and venue of the fifth round of negotiations with the United States aimed at resolving the crisis over Iran’s nuclear program, Islamic Republic Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said.

“We have received an offer for the next round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S., which is currently under discussion,” he stated.

The United States and Iran, with Oman acting as mediator, have conducted four rounds of negotiations to address disagreements over Tehran’s nuclear activities. The first round took place on April 12 in Muscat, the second on April 19 in Rome, and the third and fourth rounds on April 26 and May 11, respectively, again in Muscat.

Iran’s delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the U.S. delegation was headed by special envoy Steve Witkoff.
