Amnesty International declares unwanted organization in Russia

Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has declared Amnesty International Limited, an international human rights organization, as unwanted in Russia.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has decided to recognize the activities of Amnesty International Limited, registered in London, as undesirable within the territory of the Russian Federation,” the Prosecutor General’s Office announced.

The agency stated that the organization “positions itself as a leading advocate for human rights worldwide,” but in reality, “the London headquarters of Amnesty International (AIL) serves as a center for preparing global russophobic projects funded by collaborators of the Kyiv regime.”

“Since the beginning of the special military operation, activists have been doing everything to escalate the military conflict in the region. They justify crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis, call for increased funding for them, and advocate for our country’s political and economic isolation,” the prosecutor’s office added.

The agency noted that members of the organization “support extremist groups and finance the activities of foreign agents.”
