
5th round of Iran-US talks to take place in Rome
The fifth round of negotiations between Iran and the United States to resolve disagreements over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program will be held on May 23 in Rome.
According to Armenpress, Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who is serving as a mediator in the dialogue, said in an X post.
“The fifth round of negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place in Rome on May 23,” the Omani official wrote.
The United States and Iran have conducted four rounds of negotiations through Oman aimed at resolving disagreements over Tehran’s nuclear program. The first round took place on April 12 in Muscat, the capital of Oman; the second on April 19 in Rome; and the third and fourth rounds on April 26 and May 11, again in Muscat.
Iran’s delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
