Tourist numbers fall by 11.3%
According to data published by the Statistical Committee, 386,741 tourists visited Armenia in the first quarter of 2025, representing an 11.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2024, economist Suren Parsyan said.
“The decline in the number of tourists is primarily due to the reduction in arrivals from Russia. Specifically, this year, the number of Russian tourists has decreased by 21.8%, totaling 144,072 people. This also explains the decline in bank transfers, as well as the deterioration of the economic activity of public catering and hotels,” he stated.
