
Russia and Ukraine conduct prisoner exchange
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed the successful exchange of prisoners, resulting in 307 Ukrainian soldiers returning home. The Ukrainian leader made a relevant post on Telegram.
According to Zelenskyy, those released include servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as fighters from the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard.
“We express our gratitude to all those involved in this process and working 24/7. Our goal is to return everyone from Russian captivity,” Zelenskyy noted.
At noon on May 24, the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesperson announced that Russia had received 307 soldiers within the framework of the prisoner exchange and transferred 307 Ukrainian fighters to Kyiv.
