Turkey ready for new round of talks on Ukraine

Turkey is ready to hold a new phase of Russia-Ukraine talks and to provide any necessary support, Turkish newspaper Hürriyet reports, citing its sources.

The publication reports that Moscow may reject the Vatican’s mediation efforts. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal had expressed its willingness to act as a dialogue platform, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also announced this herself.

“Turkey has clarified that it can again host a meeting and is ready to provide any support,” the publication writes.

To remind, on May 16, the delegations of Russia and Ukraine held their first direct negotiations in three years in Istanbul. During the talks, the parties agreed to exchange ceasefire plans, exchange prisoners, and discuss the possibility of a meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
