Russia developing memorandum on Ukraine with timeline for peace treaty, says Zakharova

Russia continues to work on a memorandum regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, which will also include a timeline for signing a peace treaty, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

“Russia keeps developing a draft memorandum for the future peace treaty, which will outline several positions, such as principles for resolution, possible timelines for a peace agreement, and potential ceasefire terms, if, of course—I emphasize—appropriate agreements are reached,” Zakharova said during a press briefing.

The diplomat also noted that Ukraine is conducting similar work and is preparing its proposals, which it intends to send simultaneously with the receipt of the Russian memorandum. She added that once the document is ready, it will be immediately shared with the Ukrainian side.

However, Zakharova expressed concern regarding actions by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who, according to her, is trying to complicate the peace process by demanding stricter sanctions against Russia and increased military supplies.
