Tensions in Syunik province persist, says Russia’s Defense Ministry

Tensions around Armenia’s Syunik province continue to remain high; Moscow is interested in a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said.

He added that Russia is ready to do everything possible to facilitate the signing of a peace treaty.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia sincerely wishes success to Armenia and Azerbaijan in signing a peace treaty and is ready to continue providing all possible assistance to the parties in drafting and signing such a document.
