May 28 is a symbol of pride, faith, unity, and future-building, says Genesis Armenia
On the occasion of the declaration of the First Republic of Armenia, Genesis Armenia Think Tank/Foundation has issued the following message:
“Genesis Armenia congratulates Armenians around the world on May 28, the day of proclaiming the First Republic of Armenia—a day that reaffirms Armenian national identity and shines as a glorious page in our people’s history.
After a break of nearly 600 years, the Armenian people restored their independence in a situation where only three years earlier, they had endured genocide and were on the brink of destruction. Through unimaginable trials, we managed to build an independent statehood, reaffirming our determination to live freely, sovereignly, and with dignity.
May 28 became a bridge to further strengthen our statehood and a cornerstone for Armenia’s future.
Today, May 28 is not only a memory of the past but also a symbol of pride, faith, unity, and future-building. Unfortunately, as in 1918, we are now facing existential recurring challenges, and to overcome them, we must revive the same spirit that led us in the heroic battles of May. Sardarapat embodies the spirit of Armenian existence—a new Avarayr—representing not mere survival but the will and ability of the Armenian people to live, create, develop, and enrich the universal cultural treasury with our own values in a free, independent, just, and undivided homeland.
Genesis Armenia remains committed to its mission of contributing to the prosperity of the homeland and preserving our national values. May this day mark a new beginning and remind us of what we can achieve together—through faith, unity, and purpose.
We wish peace, strength, and unwavering determination in our united march for a stronger Armenia.
Happy Independence Day, Armenian people.”
