Top Russian official talks with Ukraine’s defense minister

Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the Russian president and head of the Russian delegation in negotiations with Ukraine, has reported on a phone call with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Russia Today says.

“Today, I called Umerov and proposed a specific date and place for a meeting to exchange memoranda. We are ready to start substantive discussions on each point of a future ceasefire agreement.

We are awaiting their response and are ready to meet in the coming days to begin work aimed at establishing a long-term peace,” the Russian official stated.
