Russia-Ukraine talks in Istanbul end
The negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul have concluded. The talks lasted more than an hour, TASS reports, citing its source.
When asked whether the negotiations have ended, the source replied in the affirmative, clarifying that the meeting lasted more than an hour.
The negotiations began at the Çırağan Palace at 3:43 p.m. Yerevan time, and ended at 4:57 p.m.
Direct talks between Russia and Ukraine resumed on May 16, after more than three years of hiatus. The first meeting lasted about two hours. Besides expressing willingness to continue efforts toward establishing a ceasefire, the parties agreed on a prisoner exchange format—1000 for 1000. This agreement has been implemented.
During the second meeting, the sides are expected to exchange approaches aimed at resolving the conflict.
