Putin and Trump hold constructive conversation, says Peskov
The telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump was constructive and necessary, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
“Overall, of course, the conversation was constructive and necessary. The presidents indeed discussed many important issues,” Peskov noted.
He confirmed that Vladimir Putin told Trump that Moscow would respond to Kyiv’s attacks on its airports.
Peskov added that President Putin and the Russian side, if necessary, could join efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue. Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov earlier told reporters that Putin and Trump had discussed several international issues, emphasizing the U.S.-Iran negotiations regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.
