Armenia understands the importance of Russian military presence, says Zakharova

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russia is aware of Baku’s legitimate concern regarding the EU mission in Armenia.

“It is well known what the staff of that mission are engaged in. They are involved in spying on neighboring countries. They do not report to Yerevan, and they do not contribute to stability in the region. Regarding the withdrawal of the Russian military base from Armenia, there has been no official statement. Armenia understands the importance of Russian military presence; it is a crucial element of regional security.
