Marco Rubio congratulates Russia on Russia Day

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated the Russian people on Russia Day on behalf of the American people, the U.S. Department of State said in a statement.

“The United States remains committed to supporting the Russian people as they continue to pursue a brighter future,” Rubio said.

He also reaffirmed that Washington wishes to establish constructive dialogue with Moscow to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“We also take this opportunity to reaffirm the U.S. desire for constructive engagement with Russia to establish lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine. We hope that peace will contribute to more mutually beneficial relations between our countries,” the U.S. secretary of state concluded.
