Trump hopes to continue nuclear talks with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump expects that negotiations between Washington and Tehran regarding Iran’s nuclear program will continue, despite strikes carried out by Israel against the Islamic Republic, Trump told Fox News.

“We cannot allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb, and we hope to return to the negotiating table. We’ll see,” Trump’s words were quoted by Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin on X.

Griffin noted that Trump had expressed willingness to defend Israel in the event of a retaliatory strike by Iran.

Iranian media, in turn, reported that at least 50 people were injured in the strikes on Tehran by Israel, including at least 35 women and children.
