Trump gives Iran a ‘second chance,’ while E3 countries call for preventing nuclear weapon development
The so-called E3 countries—France, the United Kingdom, and Germany—are conducting phone calls amid rising tension around Iran, German Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said.
According to him, the E3 countries are coordinating their actions closely with the United States.
“Germany will use all available diplomatic means to influence the parties involved in the conflict and to help reduce tensions. However, the goal must be clear: to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons,” he added.
Citing sources, CNN reported that the United States expects the next round of negotiations with Iran in Oman to take place regardless of Israel’s strikes.
U.S. President Donald Trump, in turn, stated: “Two months ago, I gave Iran 60 days to ‘make a deal.’ They were supposed to do that. Today is the 61st day. I told them what to do, but they just couldn’t do it. Now they may have a second chance.”
