They should have done it long ago: Trump on talks with Iran
Iran seeks dialogue, but it should have started “a long time ago,” U.S. President Donald Trump stated during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the G7 summit.
“They want to talk, but they should have done it long ago. We had 60 days, they had 60 days. On the 61st day, I said, we’re not making a deal,” Trump said.
Trump added that Iran is “not winning in the war” today. In this regard, according to the U.S. leader, the country must immediately begin negotiations. Reaching an agreement remains possible, but the conditions must satisfy both sides.
