Accusations of an attempt to seize power is unfounded, says Samvel Karapetyan’s press service

The charges against Samvel Karapetyan, claiming he attempted to seize power, have no legal or factual grounds and are clearly an attempt at pressure, Samvel Karapetyan’s press service said in a statement.

“Samvel Karapetyan has always spoken and continues to speak in favor of protecting the interests of the Armenian people, the Armenian Apostolic Church, and national values. His words and actions are solely aimed at peacefully defending people’s rights and religious freedom,” reads the statement.

Karapetyan’s press service noted that he is a prominent entrepreneur, benefactor, and awardee of numerous state and public awards, including the titles of Hero of Artsakh and Son of Armenia.
