Appeal filed in Samvel Karapetyan’s case
A group of lawyers representing Samvel Karapetyan, the owner of Tashir Group, has filed an appeal in Armenia challenging his arrest, Karapetyan’s attorney Ruben Hakobyan told RIA Novosti.
“We submitted the appeal yesterday,” Hakobyan said, though he was unable to specify when the court hearing would take place.
Karapetyan was charged and taken into custody in Armenia after publicly expressing support for the Armenian Apostolic Church amid government attacks. The businessman has denied the charges and described the authorities as “failed.”
