Prosecutor’s Office files criminal case against Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of the Diocese of Shirak. The General Prosecutor’s Office told ABC media that the proceedings were brought on June 17, 2025, for allegedly making public calls aimed at “seizing power, violating territorial integrity, renouncing sovereignty, or forcibly overthrowing the constitutional order.”
