Investigative actions underway at Shirak Diocese

Investigative procedures are underway at the residence of the Diocese of Shirak. Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan is not inside, and the doors are being guarded by the police.

“Around 30 masked individuals stormed into the residence of the Shirak Diocese this morning,”  lawyer Mihran Poghosyan said.

To remind, it became known yesterday that a criminal case has been brought against Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of the Diocese of Shirak. Ajapahyan is accused of “seizing power, violating territorial integrity, making public calls to renounce sovereignty, or forcibly overthrow the constitutional order.”
