Tense situation in Gyumri as nobody allowed to enter diocese residence

The situation is tense in Gyumri, with people angry at the actions of law enforcement. Member of the National Assembly, Mher Melkonyan, told ABC media.

“Investigative actions are underway at the residence, and no one is allowed to enter—not even lawyers,” Melkonyan stated.

According to the MP, residents of Shirak are currently gathering near the residence. He urges everyone to go to the Shirak Diocese residence to protect both Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan and the residence itself.

“The people of Shirak are ready to defend the Armenian Apostolic Church,” the MP added.
