
Andranik Simonyan appointed National Security Service chief
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has signed a decree appointing Andranik Simonyan as Director of the National Security Service (NSS).
The decree reads: “Pursuant to Part 5 of Article 9 of the Law on Public Service and Part 2 of Article 4.1 of the Law on National Security Bodies, Andranik Simonyan is hereby appointed Director of the National Security Service.”
Simonyan had been serving as acting director of the NSS following the June 18 dismissal of former NSS chief Armen Abazyan.
