US and Iran discuss resuming nuclear talks
Washington is in contact with Tehran to resume negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program next week in Oslo, Israeli TV channel N12 reports, without citing specific sources.
“The United States is negotiating with Iran following the attack on Iran and the ceasefire, aiming to restart talks on the nuclear agreement in Oslo next week,” the TV channel states.
On June 28, NBC News reported that Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will hold talks with Iranian representatives in the coming days regarding a potential agreement on the nuclear program. On June 30, the White House announced that Witkoff continues discussions with Iran on the nuclear deal but did not clarify whether face-to-face meetings are possible this week.
Iranian and U.S. officials held five rounds of talks on the nuclear program from April to May 2025. The negotiations were halted on June 13 due to Israel’s 12-day military operation against Iran and U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
