Russia sees potential for resumption of relations between Moscow and Washington, says Peskov

Russia highly values U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts toward resolving the Ukrainian conflict and sees the potential for resuming negotiations between Moscow and Washington, Russia’s Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said during a press briefing.

“Of course, we believe that there is significant potential for the resumption of trade and economic relations between our countries,” Peskov added.

He also noted that Russia is still awaiting a decision from Ukraine regarding the dates for a new round of direct negotiations between the two countries. “As soon as the dates are agreed upon—and we hope they will be—we will immediately announce it,” Peskov stated.
