Druze establish ‘Unity Army’ to protect their community

The Lebanese Druze have announced the formation of a “Unity Army” to defend their community in the Middle East. The announcement was made amid the entry of Syrian forces into the city of Suwayda, where the Druze population is the majority.

Damascus stated that the goal of the operation is to clear the city of armed groups. Following this, the Israeli Air Force carried out several strikes against Syrian forces. Israel also threatened to continue the attacks until the forces of the Syrian Ministry of Defense leave Suwayda.
