Pashinyan engaged in wholesale and retail trade of his own country, Russian officials say
At the request of the West, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan “gave away everything” that many generations of Armenians had fought for, RIA Novosti writes, citing Alexey Zhuravlyov, First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Defense Committee.
The official noted that Yerevan has received nothing either from Baku or from Washington, while the “Zangezur Corridor” has been leased to the Americans for 99 years.
“The example of Panama shows how this usually ends: with the status of canal leaseholder, the United States then effectively controlled the country for several decades. The same now threatens Armenia, where its own prime minister is engaged in wholesale and retail trade,” Zhuravlyov concluded.
Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, noted that the peace agreements signed by the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders are merely a substitute for peace, based on injustice.
According to Zatulin, Armenia’s prime minister “demonstrates extraordinary modesty even in such ‘trifles’ as the fate of the Armenian population of Artsakh expelled from their lands, or the leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh held captive in Baku—not to mention the denial of any truth regarding the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.”
