Several countries express willingness to deploy security forces in Ukraine

The “Coalition of the Willing” is ready to deploy troops in Ukraine after a ceasefire, says a joint statement by member states.

“They re-emphasized the readiness to deploy a reassurance force once hostilities have ceased, and to help secure Ukraine’s skies and seas and regenerate Ukraine’s armed forces,” reads the statement.

The statement said the deployment of troops would be part of the security guarantees provided by the United States.

“The leaders also commended President Trump’s commitment to providing security guarantees to Ukraine, in which the Coalition of the Willing will play a vital role through the Multinational Force Ukraine, among other measures,” reads the statement.

The coalition includes 31 states, including France, the U.K., Germany and Turkey.
