Ahmed al-Sharaa accuses Israel of interfering in Syria’s internal affairs
Syria’s Acting President Ahmed al-Sharaa has accused Israel of interfering in the internal affairs of the Arab Republic, Kommersant reports.
According to al-Sharaa, Israel is pursuing policies in Suwayda aimed at weakening the Syrian state. At the same time, he stressed that Syria is not facing the threat of partition.
Syria’s president noted that the process of Syrian unification must take place peacefully.
“In the near future we face another battle for Syria’s unity, but it should not be accompanied by bloodshed or military force. It must happen through mutual understanding, because Syria is tired of war,” al-Sharaa said during one of his speeches.
On Aug. 16, hundreds of people took to the streets in Suwayda, demanding autonomy for the Druze minority.
