Trump and Putin agree on Ukraine security guarantees, says Witkoff
Speaking on CNN, Steve Witkoff announced significant progress toward resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
“We have agreed on serious security guarantees, which I would describe as game-changing,” Witkoff said.
According to Witkoff, the deal envisages fixing Russia’s commitment not to invade other European countries and not to violate their sovereignty.
He added that Moscow has made concessions regarding five Ukrainian regions — an issue that will be on the agenda at tomorrow’s meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy.
Commenting on the prospect of a ceasefire, Witkoff said it would be meaningless, since the parties are working toward a comprehensive peace settlement.
