Armenia’s consulate in Yekaterinburg closed
Armenia’s diplomatic mission in the Urals has been closed, according to a post on the “Консульство в Екб” WhatsApp channel.
The closure followed the dismissal of Armenia’s Honorary Consul in Yekaterinburg, Narek Spartakyan, who had been a supporter of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
“Dear citizens, due to the suspension of Narek Spartakyan’s status as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Yekaterinburg, we regret to inform you that the office of the Honorary Consul has ceased its operations,” reads the post.
A similar announcement appeared on the “Armenians of Chelyabinsk Region” Telegram channel.
They noted that from now on, all inquiries should be directed to Armenia’s other consular offices in Russia.
