Brussels and Kyiv trying to drag Hungary into war, says Hungarian foreign minister
Ukraine has once again attacked the oil pipeline leading to Hungary, disrupting supplies. The latest blow to the country’s energy security is unacceptable and outrageous, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote.
“Russia’s Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin informed me that specialists are working to restore the transformer substation necessary for the pipeline’s operation, but they still cannot say when supplies will resume.
For three and a half years, Brussels and Kyiv have been trying to drag Hungary into Ukraine’s war. These repeated attacks on our energy systems by Ukraine serve the same purpose. This is not our war. We have nothing to do with it, and as long as we are in power, Hungary will not intervene.
And finally, a reminder to Ukrainian politicians: Hungarian electricity plays a vital role in your country’s energy supply…” Szijjártó said.
