
Turkey begins construction of railway toward Azerbaijan
Turkey has commenced the construction of a railway line in the direction of Azerbaijan. On Aug. 22, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kars–Igdir–Aralık–Dilucu line will take place in Igdir.
The project will involve building a 224-kilometer railway line with an annual capacity of 5.5 million passengers and 15 million tons of cargo. The plan includes the construction of 24 tunnels, 10 bridges, 144 underground and 27 overground passages, as well as 480 water pipelines.
