Turkey ready to support Russia-Ukraine peace process

Turkey will continue to provide comprehensive support for the processes related to a peaceful settlement between Russia and Ukraine, a source from Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told TASS in response to requests for comments on the situation surrounding the settlement process and potential new phases of negotiations between the parties.

“As Turkey, we emphasize our readiness to provide comprehensive support for the peace process whenever possible,” the agency source said. According to the source, this stance “remains unchanged.”

On July 23, the third round of direct Russian–Ukrainian negotiations on resolving the Ukraine issue took place in Istanbul. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has previously stated several times that he is ready both to continue facilitating negotiations between the delegations and to organize a meeting between the leaders of the conflicting parties.
