It’s Europe that will provide security guarantees to Ukraine, while the United States will be involved as a supporting force, U.S. President Donald Trump said during a press conference at the White House.

“Europe will provide significant security guarantees, and we will support them. I believe we will reach an agreement, and it won’t be a major problem. We will support them because I want to stop people from dying,” the U.S. president said.

Trump also noted that the conflict in Ukraine has a personal aspect.

“Honestly, I thought dealing with Ukraine and Russia would be the easiest, but it turned out there is a serious interpersonal conflict here,” he said, adding that Putin does not want to meet with Zelenskyy due to personal dislike for him.
