Israeli ambassador in Baku: I hope Iran has learned its lesson
Israel’s newly appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Krausz, said in an interview with APA that the 12-day war in June had been imposed on Israel, leaving the country with no other choice.
According to the ambassador, Iran’s regime has for years called for the destruction of Israel, showcasing missiles inscribed with “Death to Israel” during military parades and even installing a countdown clock in Tehran predicting Israel’s annihilation.
“This was an intolerable threat, and Israel had to take action to eliminate it. I hope Iran has learned its lesson. If the threats continue, Israel will be forced to act again,” Krausz stated.
The ambassador also stressed that Iran continues to support its allies — Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.
“They keep carrying out attacks on Israel. In recent days, the Houthis launched drones and missiles toward Israel, and Israel was forced to respond. These actions are carried out under Iran’s orders. Yemen does not have the technology to produce such missiles, and it is obvious that Iran supplies them,” the ambassador stated.
Krausz added that as long as Iran poses a threat to Israel’s security and sovereignty, Israel will take action.
“Israel cannot tolerate threats to its security. But if there is no threat, we have no intention of attacking anyone. We want to live in peace — that is our only wish,” the ambassador noted.
