Turkey condemns Netanyahu’s statement on Armenian Genocide
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry has rejected remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the Armenian Genocide.
“Netanyahu’s statement about the events of 1915 is an attempt to politicize a tragic chapter of the past. A leader condemned for his role in the genocide against the Palestinian people is now seeking to conceal crimes committed by himself and his government. We condemn and reject this statement, which does not correspond to the historical realities of the past,” Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The response came after Netanyahu, in a televised interview, said he recognized the Armenian Genocide.
