Turkey’s foreign minister responds to Netanyahu’s remarks on Armenian Genocide

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has responded to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements regarding the Armenian Genocide, describing them as an attempt to conceal Israel’s own actions.

“There are facts the world recognizes as genocide. What Netanyahu has done is nothing more than an effort to hide his own genocide,” Fidan said during a live broadcast, where he commented on current issues on the international agenda.

The Turkish diplomat stressed that the illusion of Israel’s untouchability has collapsed.

“The Palestinian question and the genocide carried out in Gaza over the past two years is an insult not only to our people, but to all Muslims. This is the pain of the entire world,” Fidan said.

According to the official, Israel has crossed the boundaries set by the 1967 borders and is seeking to expand and occupy new territories. “This is obvious,” he stated.

Fidan also noted that the only country capable of exerting maximum pressure to stop Israel is the United States, but Washington has not made sufficient use of that leverage.
