Israel must end the war in Gaza, says Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Israel will be forced to halt its war in Gaza, as the conflict is damaging the country’s reputation. He made the remarks in an interview with Daily Caller.
According to Trump, unconditional support for Israel in Congress is now “a thing of the past.”
“They are going to have to stop this war. It’s hurting Israel, no question about it. They may win the war, but they are not winning in public relations. Israel once had the most powerful lobby in Congress—stronger than any company, corporation, or nation. Israel was the strongest. Today, Israel doesn’t have that powerful lobby anymore,” Trump said.
A Daily Caller poll conducted in March found that 50% of young Republicans hold a negative view of Israel. The president acknowledged he is aware of this shift.
