‘Zangezur Corridor’ construction in Azerbaijan to be completed next year
The construction of the “Zangezur Corridor” in Azerbaijan is scheduled to be completed next year, Fariz Aliyev, head of the Transport Policy Department at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, said.
The official noted that significant progress has been made toward opening the corridor. Once operational, it will become a key part of Azerbaijan’s transport network and will increase transit traffic both East-West and North-South.
He added that construction projects along the route are also underway in Turkey. “The 224-kilometre section of the Kars–Dilucu line has been laid, and it will be fully completed within the next four years. With the commissioning of the “Zangezur Corridor”, annual cargo transport through the Middle Corridor is expected to increase by an additional 15 million tons,” Aliyev said.
