Trump condemns Israeli strike on Doha

In a phone call with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, U.S. President Donald Trump urged him to continue acting as a mediator in ceasefire negotiations over the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the Emir’s office cited by TASS.

“The U.S. president highly valued Qatar’s efforts in mediating between the parties to the conflict and called on the Emir to remain engaged in the negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip,” the statement posted on the Emir’s official website said.

During the conversation, Trump also condemned the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and expressed support for Doha.
