Pakistan seeks EAEU membership and establishes diplomatic ties with Armenia, says Pakistani official

Pakistan intends to join the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and is already conducting preparatory work on the matter, Pakistani Deputy Minister of Trade Nasir Hamid told TASS.

“At this moment, we are not yet in negotiations with the EAEU. However, we are carrying out preparatory work and exploring the possibilities,” he said.

In this context, Hamid stated that Pakistan has “recently established diplomatic ties with Armenia.” “Thus, we are still discussing this issue, and as soon as a decision is made, we will be ready to move closer to the EAEU,” the minister added.
